Alcudia with family? Oh yes! Alcudia is a beautiful old town located in the peaceful north of Majorca Island. It’s a perfect destination to travel to with kids. Alcudia has a great combination of culture, nature, beach life, family villas and a bunch of fun activities to entertain young and old.

1. Wander around Alcudia Old Town

The old town in Alcudia is a special place. Surrounded by ancient city walls, the old town is completely car-free and full of narrow streets and charming little cafes, restaurants and shops. It’s not too big, making it easy for little kids to stroll along with mom and dad. It’s also fun to walk on top of the city walls and see the countryside surrounding the city.

2. Go cycling!

Alcudia is located in the north of Majorca and it’s a great place to go cycling. You can rent bikes everywhere. It is possible to rent mountain bikes but also rent city bikes with children’s seats. Go cycle to the lively port of Alcudia which is very nearby or you can cycle towards Pollensa and stop at pretty coves and secret beaches. The wind in your hair, beautiful peaceful surroundings, nothing too challenging for the little legs. It’s perfect!

3. Explore S’Albufera National Park

S’Albufera National Park is an unspoiled nature reserve located just 5 km from Alcudia. These wetlands are home to all kinds of birds attracting bird watchers from around the world. You can spot rare birds such as Montagu’s harriers and Eleanora’s falcons. Stonechats, moustached warblers and the long-eared owl are breeding here. It’s wonderful to walk around the park or to cycle through it. Bring everything for a picnic and you are up for a lovely day out in nature, away from the crowds.

4. Visit historic and picturesque Pollensa

Pollensa is another historic town in this part of Majorca. It’s well worth a visit located just a short drive from Alcudia (18 minutes). You can even get there on a bicycle if you can’t get enough of the cycling. You can also make use of the public bus service as they are reliable and frequent. In Pollensa, walk the long calvary stairs featuring no less than 365 steps, It leads to an 18th-century chapel. The views from up there are stunning and next to the chapel is a lovely family-run cafe where you can have a beer or a coffee.

5. Take the kids to the Aquarium in Palma

Not really close to Alcudia but still very nice to visit on a day trip to Ibiza Town. Ibiza Town is a lovely place to visit and the kids will surely adore the aquarium which is located in a natural cave. You can spot all kinds of Mediterranean sea creatures such as rays, groupers, sea horses, octopuses, starfish and more. The aquarium also has an Aquadome where you can get a 360-degrees whale experience. It’s the only one in Europe and truly impressive

6. Beach fun!

Don’t forget to spend lots of time on the beach! There are many beautiful beaches to explore near Alcudia. There is the port of Alcudia which has a pretty beach but there are many more. The sand is soft and white, the water is perfectly blue and clear. Build sandcastles, swim, do watersports or go fly your kite. This is what family holidaying is all about!
